About Pterygoid Implants
Pterygoid implants are often recommended for patients diagnosed with atrophic maxilla, a condition involving significant bone loss in the upper jaw. In these cases, the bone structure is not sufficient to support traditional dental implants. Instead of placing the implant vertically into the jawbone, pterygoid implants are anchored at an angle into the dense pterygoid bone, providing strong, reliable support even in cases of severe bone loss.
